laugh

I love this joke. Most quilters
would get a laugh out of this one.

Aren't these beautiful and nosy too. Wouldn't you just love to see these guys at your door.

We had lunch with Adam and Lisa and Sam. It started out well but I got sick and had to come home. What a huge disappointment. But Adam and Lisa came over later in the afternoon to visit and that was lovely as by that time I had pretty well recovered. Thank goodness they did as we had the opportunity to continue our visit. Of course I forgot to take any photographs of them. They will be leaving tomorrow and we won't see them again this visit.

I might have posted this before but because  It is so amusing It is going on the blog again.

Here he is the little prince Quinn creating something. What an adorable little face. He is Mary and Albert's son, my great grandson.

I was so sick that I stayed in bed for several hours this afternoon before Adam and Lisa arrived. After that all went well.

I had perogies with bacon for dinner. Ray had a sandwich. He lives on sandwiches for some reason. He never wants dinner. And no I am not a dreadful cook LOL.

Great news folks. Spring will be here soon.

Good thinking by Native Americans.

I am still worn out from being sick so I'll go for now.
Have a lovely evening.

Good night.

Kindness

Thanks for your kind thoughts Angie. Some nights I am just not up for writing.

Richard is on the road for as long as the elevator in his building is not working. They say 3 months to get it going again. So it will be a long trip. Katherine is with him so he has company on the road. I am grateful for that.

Wheel of Fortune is the name of this lovely block.

We had such a lazy day, just slept and ate and watched TV. Well I did the laundry and Ray rested. He needs the rest as he is still hurting a lot, but if he rests the pain goes away. So today he rested and had a bit of relief.

I was going to clean up my sewing area but did not  get around to it, maybe tomorrow LOL. We'll see what happens. I do want to sew so must get that job done.  Maybe I'll pin the heart rows together tonight. After dinner of course. I am having perogies for dinner but Ray can't eat the potatoes so I'll have to make him bacon and eggs. It seems to be working out the I have to make two meals many nights as Ray cannot eat so many things.  Some would say well make what he can eat but that makes my own meals so limited so I make dinner twice. I try to make something simple.

This is such a beauty.
I saw this cube quilt or one like it many years ago and I was very impressed with it then. Still am.

What an amazing quilt this is a Wedding quilt. I wonder who designed it let alone pieced and quilted it. Amazing.

This quilt is a wool quilt so it was said. I am not sure of that by the looks of it but then I am not the expert.

I am ready to go to bed now so will say good night until tomorrow.

Good night.

mini

This is a mini paper pieced quilt topper just thinking how to finish. Measures 5 1/2" square. Individual blocks are 2 1/2" each.

Delightful little piece isn't it?

Our day was a bit less exciting. Today is Adam's  birthday. Happy birthday Adam.Your special day brings back fond memories for me. He and Lisa are spending the weekend in Sechelt.

Ray and I went to Safeway this afternoon. When we got home Ray discovered that he had forgotten my walker in the parking lot. We rushed back and it was not in the lot so Ray went into the store and asked them if anyone had turned it in. And some honest person had done just that.  What a relief as the walker cost us $500 .  We were lucky on that score.

Richard no longer has a working elevator, he and Katherine will be leaving on their road trip Sunday. I hope all goes well and Rick stay okay for the trip.

Yes I would run or play dead. One time when Ray and I were driving to Quebec we saw a bear standing up in a classic pose. Across the whole country we rarely see any bears. We have made numerous trips across the country and this guy was the only bear we saw. They hide in the bush.

LOLOL. This makes me laugh. Once I waved to the queen as her car drove by on Granville on the way to the airport. She graciously waved back. She made my day.

Now I think this is all folks.

Have a great evening.

Good night.

dinner out

We had dinner at Mr.Ho's Chinese restaurant, our favourite place  for Chinese food.  Adam and Lisa came with us  and we had a great meal plus  good company. I am happy to have the time with them. They were off to the opera Die Fledermaus put on by the Vancouver Opera Company. It is a comedy , I am sure they will have a great time. I read the revue on my laptop and it sounds like fun. I like a farce once in a while.

We went to the Ostomy Clinic today , I thought it was the last visit but Andy, the nurse, made another appointment for me next week.
We saw the new rings which are thinner and lighter and won't leave a mark on my skin.

Then we came home and I had a nice long nap. I seem to need a nap each afternoon nowadays. I wonder if it is my age. Oh well, I enjoy the naps.

We saw the first robin of spring this morning. Beautiful isn't he?

I love this season, all the flowering trees are in bloom, the daffodils have blossomed as have the hyacinths. It is such a gorgeous time of year.

This is such a neat idea. However I am not able to read what is on the pocket even when it is enlarged.

A neat cushion but while the design is great, the colour is too bright for me. I would use a softer pallette.

Well folks that is all for tonight.
    Have a great evening .

        Good night.

Tops for me

When we went to the doctor the other day she did not give Ray anything new since all drugs seem to affect his kidneys so he is just using Tylenol. However, she increased the Methotrexate by one pill. I personally don't think that will help and so far it is not making much of a difference. This is such a hard thing to help. He suffers a lot especially in his shoulders.  I pray that help soon comes.

Today we went out in the morning to Sears in Brentwood mall to exchange the tops I bought last week. We got some different ones that are very pretty. The mall is very messed up as there is tons of construction going on. I think they have used up the parking lot for high rises and perhaps an addition to the mall. It is going to be in that state for at least a couple of years. However, we do manage to get things done as we want them. We ate lunch in the food court, went to TanJay to get the new tops, and then to the bookstore where I bought one book and Ray bought a big book on World War One. I am going to read that one too. I always look at the pictures to see if I can find my dad who fought in that war.  Then we decided to come home but first we had to go to the PO to mail a letter.
I had a good nap when I got home. I tire easily these days.

Kind of like this guy LOL.

Haha these cuties are called whookies who, who, who.

Now here's a puppy who knows what she is doing.

Time to go folks.  Have a lovely evening.
                                       Good night.

memory loss

Hmm . Almost forgot this blog tonight. I am getting old when I forget things that are important to me. Oh well, I finally remembered that I hadn't written it and in the middle of NCIS New Orleans. I like this show because of the location. We look to check if there are any places that we have been. I love going to New Orleans, it is unique.
Adam and Lisa tell me they go to New Orleans several times a year. That is so nice.

Yesterday we went to the doctor . She told me I have psoriasis on my scalp and wrote me some prescriptions for it. I hope they do the trick. It is uncomfortable and unsightly.

We continue to have gorgeous weather, beautiful, sunny, spring weather. It sure raises your spirits. I have always loved the Spring and this one is no exception.

Pat and I went to our sewing group this morning after we had our coffee and chat at Oakridge. I finally completed the last of my hearts and am now able to put the last row of my quilt together, Then I can sew all the rows together for the top. I may need to purchase some fabric for the borders unless I can come up with something inventive and creative.  Now I will need to come up with something else to applique on Tuesdays.

Sweet Candy Ring makes a great block. I see it as the cover for a cushion. It would be a really cheerful piece for the sofa.

Signs of Spring and baby mule and daffodils. How cute.

This little guy is even cuter with his little ducky shoes. It is a face you can love.

And here is a beautiful red, white and black quilt with a shadow piece behind the blocks.

That's all for tonight folks.
   Have a lovely evening.

Good night!

Richard added these sites , info on ALS. Interesting reading if

you are interested.

Road to Ohio.

Richard says his arms are now showing signs of weakness and it is getting very hard to lift himself up onto his bed and onto his truck. This will be extremely hard for him. I wish we lived in the same city and province. The time is coming when he will need help. The ALS society in Alberta is good but how good I do not know.

tonight we went to The Keg with Adam and Lisa. It was a great evening , the food was good and the company better.  I had Lobster Bisque for starters, then Prime Rib for the entree. Prime Rib, and twice bakes potato, first time for that item. I wasn't greatly impressed with it but the Prime Rib was wonderful. The bread and butter I loved as was the coffee after. All in all a fabulous meal. Thank you so much Adam and Lisa for inviting Ray and me to dinner.  The conversation was brisk and in some cases enlightening. Adam is a very good historian and I always learn something new about Royalty. For instance Edward the 8th never was entertained by a woman who was not married. All his lady friends had husbands. Hmmm.  I remember my mother saying how she felt about him and it was not good. She rebuked him for his playing around with married women not that I had any idea at the time of why that disturbed her.
There were other topics of conversation, of course.

These two friends belong to my niece Karin. I think this is so cute both of them looking out the window. I forget their names but think the dog is Ruby . As for poor kitty I have forgotten her name. But I get a huge kick out of the closeness these two share.

Isn't this one a beauty. A lovely panel surrounded by various boxes of various sizes.

Another beauty, a work of nature. I know the moose is not pretty but in my mind he is wonderful and beautiful. This moose was photographed in Alaska by my friend Denise.

Oh how I would love a slice of that, doesn't it look delicious?

Time is up folks.

Have a great evening.
Good night.

visit

A wonderful visit with Adam and Lisa this afternoon. It was most enjoyable for us . They stayed for a few hours and we talked about all our family matters. Tomorrow they are taking us out for dinner. Our choice.
Nice picture of them isn't it?  They are both looking good.  It was a lovely day of visiting.
I am looking forward to tomorrow .

Mary sent this adorable picture of Quinn and Rose swinging on a flat swing. I never heard of this swing before but the kids, my great grandchildren are obviously having a great time.

Bird pictures tonight....Flamingoes, they seem to want to crowd together.

Priceless.

Adorable! I am not sure that the kitten likes hands around his neck though.

Joli Ann our great granddaughter in La Belle Province Quebec.

Twister is the pattern of this quilt. I want to make one but so far I have not got started.

A good motto to follow.

Have a great evening folks.

Good night.
