plans

http://craftsy.me/1tltWns

Make a crazy patch heart, follow these instructions.

http://craftsy.me/XQudoX

Spider Webs is what I call this block, it makes a great quilt.

Charlotte and her aunt Kate sailing somewhere in Alberta.

Lisa and Adam somewhere in France. Great smile Adam.

Aha a wee Scottish bairn.

Today Ray and I decided to stay at home today and just do things around  the apartment. And not much of that either LOL.
I read my book for a while and did a bit of work , but not much .

School is supposed to open on Tuesday but because of the teacher's strike the kids will not be going back to school. I know they are bored with summer. When I was teaching the kids all said they were happy to be back to school after the long summer holiday.

A beluga cresting , probably for fish. They are an adorable creature and friendly. We have them at the Vancouver aquarium. I am not in favour of holding animals in captivity but once we have them for a while they cannot go back to the wild. They would starve to death as they are used to being hand fed.

I love this sign and I have a fondness for alligators too. I don't know why . Weird isn't it. This line up is so amusing. But you had better stay in the car LOL.

Log Cabin quilt with a piano key border. This is a very scrappy quilt. I would like a more organized use of fabric meaning it is too scrappy for me.

That is it for tonight folks.

Have a lovely evening.

And a good night!!

Time to think about it

http://craftsy.me/1tltYeQ

Sunbonnet Sue is ready for Hallowe'en, are you? This is a wonderful block to make for the holiday.

What a lovely day we had today. We went for a barbecue at our third son's Peter and his wife's Judith   home. Judith's daughter and 6 year old grandson Jack were visiting as well. Jack was lots of fun and we all enjoyed the day.  I loved their dog Guinness who is a beautiful friendly dog. Thanks to both of you for a lovely afternoon..

Earlier in the day we did our grocery shopping . That was the morning and the afternoon was at Peter and Judith's.  We are back home now resting and watching TV.  What a great day.

This Crazy Quilted block is just gorgeous. Red and white are in such contrast and make the block beautiful. Fancy sewing machine stitches, embroidery and lovely lace make for a wonderful block.

Created in Electric Quilt 7 , it would look lovely in real fabric.

I have a very sore thumb joint so typing is hurtful.
I may have to write a shorter blog, we'll see.

Cute little hanging for Hallowe'en. I do not have a pattern so this is just a suggestion for a Wallhanging.

Little Scotties make a great quilt for a little one and for the little one in you too.

This block makes a wonderful Fall quilt and the treatment here is a good one.

A good day for us and hope that tomorrow will  be the same. The weather was beautiful and the day was warm so we were all able to sit outside and eat our lunch .

That is it for tonight folks.

Have a lovely summer evening.

Good night.

two guys

http://craftsy.me/1tltYeM

I love these guys and they are ready for Halloween. Make these mug rugs for the season.  Fun to make, fun to use.

We had  lunch today with Bob and Buzz. Lunch was fine but the visit was great. We chatted for quite a long time. Then Ray and I went for a walk around the mall but we did not buy anything. I almost bought some shoes though but fought down the urge.
We went to Extra Foods on the way home and bought some popcorn for tonight. We like the treat in the evening.

When we got home I had a nice nap, some days I am just tired and need a nap. Today was such a day for me.

After the nap we had something to eat. No cooking tonight. I had crackers , butter and liver sausage. I love that. Hmm think I'll have some more.

Now we are watching Big Bang Theory -once again.

My printer is still not working so I had to hand write the directions to Peter and Judith's place. We are going there for a barbecue tomorrow afternoon. I am really looking forward to that.

Twister design. I like this one.

This is a wonderful picture of Rick and Quinn, Grandpa looks so  happy  and Quinn looks contented.

Koi are so beautiful. We saw a pool full of them on one of our trips ,it was in a hotel lobby.

This is just adorable too.

Fancy holders for your small scissors, Not sure how these are made but I have seen them made from a heart shape.

Kind of a gruesome looking pencil case. It would cause a stir the first day of school.

Good idea for a wall hanging in your sewing room.

That is all for tonight folks.
Have a great evening.

Good night.

Thursday today, what did we do?    First we went to the Ostomy clinic for a change of dressing and addressing my stoma and the surrounding skin which has been a bit of trouble, That is why we have been going there so often. There is still another visit to do and then We hope all is well.

Richard and David left this morning for Victoria to visit Mary and Rick's grandchildren.
I am sure they will have a lovely time. Then they are travelling down
to Seattle and travelling back to Calgary from there.

We are still waiting to hear from LazyBoy about the chairs we bought. The fabric is creasing and it does not look like a new chair.

Isn't
this a beautiful machine. The decals are perfect. I have never seen such a lovely machine in the real.

Having a beer on a hot day. They look happy!

Make a tie quilt, use up all those ties or get some from Value Village.

A vision in blue Stars and Flying Geese are the components of this lovely quilt.

How many of you remember an old radio like this.  My parents had one . I used to listen to the news, BBCfrom London, during WW2.

I think is all for tonight.
Have a lovely evening folks.

Good night.

David took Rick , Ray and me to the Keg for dinner tonight. It was great, I had  lobster and  prime rib  plus baked potato. Now how good is that. Thank you David for the good time tonight.

So that is the extent of my blog for tonight. I just don't feel up to the task.

Good night.

Winter rose

Our pin of the week is Winter Rose Quilt by Lynne Hagmeier.
http://www.pinterest.com/pin/321374123379803084

Lovely quilt.

Tonight I have a number of quilts to show and not much talk.

Rainbow chevrons.

Very bright  solids in this quilt.

Centre 16 patch with triangles all round.

Kissing fish, easy triangles.

My Adam  in the rain in Belgium. Lisa must be taking the picture.

Lisa in Bruges also in the rain LOL.

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, Let down your golden hair. Our Charlotte is the Rapunzel on the right, the smaller one. I think the bigger girl is Charlotte's Alberta cousin.  Cute aren't they.

Trips can get pretty tiring for a little girl. So time to  pull up the quilt and have a nap.

Rick on his way to Vancouver and partaking of a refreshment.

Well folks that is all for tonight.
Have a great evening.

Good night.

basket

Download now as a pdf pattern
I like this basket because it is sitting up straight. It is easy to look at. Whoops ending a sentence with a preposition,  not good. But how to fix it is the problem.

I love turtles and this one is particularly great. Imagine a turtle trying to climb a fence. It looks like he is going to make it.

And here we have a redwork sewing machine .And more of them below.

Pretty quilt for Fall Autumn leaves. And see the Prairie Points around the edge. Very effective.

We had to go back to the Ostomy clinic today and still one more visit to go this week on Thursday.
Then we went round to Cockney Kings for lunch. I had chips and one piece of fish, Ray had one piece of fish. He likes to share a few of my fries . It was a lovely lunch.

Then we went to the blood clinic to offer up a vial of our blood LOL.  Actually it was two vials of blood each to the Vampire at the desk. Believe me she looks like something awful. No pictures though. Haha.

It was time then to come home. We get tired now as we are so old. We still get around a lot but we tire out sooner than we used to do. There I avoided that preposition LOL.

Marg called today and wanted Ray and me to come and be with her for the afternoon as Michael had to go for an interview. But her friends came over so she did not need the help.  I take it she needs to have somebody there in case she has another fall. I pray that does not happen it could be terrible.

Gerry just  called, that is Ray's sister. She is 85 years old and still has all her marbles, good for her. Having your marbles is a good thing LOL.

Charlotte driving her grandpa's wheelchair. She loves that wheel chair.
She is getting tall, look at her long legs. I haven't seen her for several months as we were away and now she is away.

My niece Karin, nephew Michael and their dad Clint. Clint passed away this morning. Rest is peace big guy and my sympathies to Karin and Michael and Clint's  wife.

Here we have an amazing table runner, all those sharp points make for heavy going.

Charlotte at the Calgary zoo riding the ponies . Looks like fun.

So that is all for tonight folks.
Have a great evening.

Good night.
