A stitch

Oh my God I lost my whole blog for today and need to start over. Not an easy task seeing that I must try and repeat what I said. Already I can't remember how it all went. I am hooped!

A fine tutorial on the ladder stitch which is used to close up seams and to applique. There are excellent pictures describing the technique. If you are having trouble with your stitches this might be a good site to remember and save for future reading.

It has been  a very tirung day for me.. My shower whacked me out and I had to lay down but the plus side is I finished reading my interesting book. I got up for a while and then it was back to bed again for the rest of the day. Now it is evening and I am up. I think it is the medicine I'm taking for H Pylori.  Let's see what tomorrow will bring. I am well rested so it should be better.

Quilt pro's Block of the Day- not my style but it may be useful to some.

A nest for a wren to rest.

This afternoon I finished my book by Gregg Olsen ,Fear Collector. It is about three young women at the beginning who have been abducted and killed. At three the killer was declared a serial killer. What is intersting about the story  is the inclusion of the real events of Ted Bundy's life . People in the book are in relationships to Bundy, not sure if that is real or fiction. Not that it matters Olsen does an amazing job of integrating both aspects of the story. The ending is a complete surprise.
There is also a novella included in the book. It has an entertaining aspect to  the story , a part of the story is about the Macah nation of Neah Bay . One of the protagonists is a native of the Macah nation.
The Macahs are a people of  whalers. In 1999 there was a great protest against the Macahs because they began whaling again after 80 years absence from the trade. The Macahs believe it is their  ancestral right to whale if that is a verb. LOL
Can you imagine whaling from an open canoe , this photo was taken around 1920.
The modern way to whale, looks the same as the old way.
If you are interested in more information on the Macah and Neah Bay just put Macah Nation into your browser.  The pictures of the Pacific Northwest are breathtaking. Do it! I live here and these photos took my breath away.
I talked to Richard today and jim called. We had a long talk. Peter went to visit Jim in Edmonton this weekend.

My great grandson Adam and my grandson Aaron. Both of them live in Louisiana  in Lake Charles.

This is love, Valentine's Day is close.
A safe place to rest, the cygnets are so adorable and the mom is beautiful. Do you remember the story of the Ugly Duckling? It is a beautiful story with many applications to life. If you have not read it look under Hans Christian Andersen, I am sure you know that .

An Orca in physical activity! LOL Beautiful . These are also called Killer Whales, they can be very dangerous if provoked.
I sure hope this is not a Snapping Turtle But he is snapping at the banana. Cute picture.

Time for me to go.Good night.

Have a very good evening.
