Cake stand

Download now as a pdf pattern

Cake Stand. Somewhere in the hidden recesses of my mind I seem to think I made this block very early in my quilting career. For what I wonder.  Something for the guild , either a BOM or a block for a Community Quilt, or a block for a raffle quilt. I cannot recall but I know I did make one  along time ago. Such is memory, sometimes it's a blur.

We had a wonderful day today with Richard, Meaghan, Lewis, Sam and Charlotte. What could be more fun. Charlote is such a delight . When she first came in she went straight for Grandpa Richard and climbed up on his lap.

It was so sweet , almost as if she knew  he'd need that validation and love. He looks so happy.
She is a treasure and kept us all amused for several hours.

Here is Grandpa amusing Charlotte by reading a story for her to enjoy.

I made a big Corning Ware container of macaroni and cheese for lunch while Charlotte begged grandpa , successfully I might add , for cookies. I love mac and cheese so I was happy. Since I served it and forgot to remind the guests that they could ask for more I still have some leftover and ate that for supper.
Sam sure enjoyed Charlotte , he said she is such a sweet little girl. She liked him too and sat at the table with Sam and Great Grandpa
Ray. Charlotte likes the men LOL in the family. Actually she likes us all, Aunty Margaret and Great Grandma too. She is a charmer.
Great Grandpa and Charlotte amusing each other. This is such a sweet picture of both of them.

Charlotte filling my shoes with Cow and Dinosaur. I told you she was amusing.
Well look who's here Great Grandma and Charlotte. She likes my shirt which has a tiger on it and she can say that word LOL.
And mommy. Meaghan looks lovely herself.
Now that was our lovely day.

Rick left with two friends Chris and Chris . They came to take him to the boat for their annula winter weekend. I don't know if they plan to sail although Rick said they would just come up the inlet I do know they plan to party tonight. These are very good friends to Richard and I am happy they take care of him.

When everybody left we just relaxed. Old people tire out easily LOL.

I think I said I will show my Card Trick quilt. I had one of the guys bring it down from upstairs.
Hmm kind of wrinkly but still a favourite of mine.
Remember the Ballerins quilt I made for Charlotte. Meaghan said she loves it and has to have it come to bed with her every night. I am thrilled.
Sam is taking us out for lunch on Monday, we'll have to rush it a bit as the cleanign lady comes too.

So that was the day for us. I am very happy.

Have a lovely evening.
Good night.
