card trick

Anonymous asked , "6 loads of washing" We have a small apartment sized washer and dryer and Sunday all the towels get washed as well as regular laundry. So that is why I had to do that many loads. And yes that plate was for one person and it was delicious.

Card Trick , one of my favourite blocks and one that I used in my earliest quilt which was done in reds and black. I love it but it is upstairs and I cannot get up there and I don't think Ray can either. Maybe when Meg comes I can get her to go up and bring it down. I made my Card Trick using Eleanor Burns method which is a lot easier than the method stated here. It is in her book Winning Hand, worth while if you want to make this quilt.
I saw one of these on Amazon for $10, a good deal if you areinterested in her technique.

eI just had a call from my doctor's and she has broken her leg, quite a bad break and won't be back at work until mid March. It was a skiing accident. When I was a girl my friend broke her leg skiing and when I saw her suffering I decided not to ever go skiing. And I never did. Adam and little Adam go skiing though as you notice by the pictures of them on the hill!

Not a lot of things today but we did go to Costco , what fun eh! W just needed some paper goods and we got them. No books, amazing huh! A case of canned tomatoes and a case of baked beans filled out the order and we spent only $64 . Another amazing!! We had one of their hot dogs and drinks. I used to love the Costco hot dogs but they were not as good as the last time we had them. We sat with another couple and had a chat with them. He told us his mom was in the hospital with Alzheimer's disease. It is a tragic disease. It slowly robs a person of their identity and robs the family of the joy of her company. But he was holding up well.
Ray asked me if I recognized him and I didn't . Ray said he used to work for Sears. We did not exchange names, I wonder why. People talk about intimate things in their lives and so not even know each
other's names We live in strange times.
Talking about strange times, we watched HG Well's The Time Machine. I have seen it many years ago but it still holds up. The concept is very interesting with the Morlocks and the Eloi. Morlocks living below the earth and the Eloi above ground but controlled by the Morlocks. Still a good movie so if you think you want to watch it , you won't be wasting your time.
I did not sew today once again. I seem to have hit a dry spot. I need to determine that even a small amount every day is great progress.

Momma is licking her chops, wonder what she is seeing., but the little one nestling up to his mother is so cute.

Now here is a granny with her quilts on the line, I bet she is wanting to sell one or two. In Lancaster County in Pennsylvania the Amish had their quilts all lined up on the front porch to attract the tourists. And attract they did. Their quilts were just gorgeous. It is a wonderful trip for a quilter. I love the little cabin too, I wonder if she has electricity or sews on a hand cranked sewing machine.
What a beauty, the decals look perfect. Who wouldn't want this one. Just to look at though as our wonderful computer machines make life and sewing very simple.

What a beauty , the colour is stupendous and it is a perfect of an Anemone, at least I hope it is.

Not an easy thing  to do for most of us. I am still looking for that special place. But the idea is lovely.
I love Scottie dogs. Adam had one called Bonnie. She was a lovely docile dog , very loving a gentle apparently an anomoly among Scotties who are generally thought to be snappish. But whatever, they are so cute.

Have you ever seen anything this spectacular?

Time to go folks.

Have a lovely evening and keep warm.

Good night.
