Mexican star

Download now as a pdf pattern
Mexican Star I believe. Good looking block.

You will have to click on this one, no picture.

We have spent the day watching a movie about race car driving in the Grand Prix in Europe. James Garner starred as one of the drivers. It is a good movie except for the accidents that are bound to happen in race car racing.  It has all the emotional aspects you would think between men and women so it is a romance as well. The scenery of Italy and France was wonderful a bit like New England I think. Lots of gorgeous greenery, maybe I could include my province of British Columbia for the greenness except put greenery is tall being as it is trees as opposed to lower type shrubs.
Jolly good show as the English would say!

Our cleaning lady came today and did all the work while we sat and enjoyed the movie. At least we stayed out of her way.

That is all we did today. So boring except for the movie. We need to pick up our life a bit. Ray went and did the grocery shopping all by himself and I stayed home as he didn't think I should go out yet.
I think he was right. Maybe tomorrow.

I tried once again to crochet that hat I was working on unsuccessfully. It is still unsuccessful. Can I not read patterns any more or is it too hard or am I no longer able to read patterns. I can't figure it out.  Although I have found patterns before that obviously had an error in it. Come to think of it both patterns were free ones. Maybe it is free that I don't get LOL. I'll look for some patterns that have cost me money.  I never have luck with free. Whine whine poor me.

I am trying to think of something I want to embroider. Actually there are a couple of things I want to do and I need to get started on them soon. Tomorrow is a good day if we don't go out. I don't want to say for whom the bell tolls so I won't.

This picture is so great, the little mouse looks bagged right out and kitty doesn't seem to notice he is there. I think the tail will catch his eye when he wakes up.

Make a rag quilt before Christmas . It should be easy , no batting, no backing, no quilting just cutting and shagging as I call the clips on the blocks.
And in pink , my favourite.

Whoops I  have been away from the blog for a while as I was doing other things. Then I remembered the blog was sitting here waiting for me.  I need to get it all together.

So here goes......
Aha a simple tree skirt, just squares and a few half square triangles. Would you say 4 inch squares?  Or even 3 inches. But I think 4 is the right amount. Don't forget to add the seam allowance.

This table runner is from Quiltmaker magazine. It is very attractive for your Christmas table if blue is your colour.  If not do it in shades of red. Or green.

All that applique would drive me crazy but I so admire the quilter who did it.

That's it for tonight folks.
Have a lovely evening.

Good night.
