an old block

Download now as a pdf pattern
An old block but an effective one. North Wind . It has several half square triangles if you need practice Haha.

Suzette made "Pincushion Palooza!" designed by Karen Snell. Pattern is in October 2012 issue. To see more pictures, visit our gallery at http://www.quiltpatternmagazine.com/gallery

You know my obsession with pincushions . If you have this magazine you can give this pincushion a try.

A neat rug mug  or cookie holder or both. I like the 2 sided mug rugs ,one side for the cup and the other for the cookie.
This is one I made using a free pattern from  http://www.charmingstation.com/
She has many free redwork snowmen and ladies. Very cute and quite useful in this case.
We didn't do a lot today other than shop for groceries. I bought a Quiltmaker magazine. Some of the magazines are up to $12.95.  I liked that one but won't pay so much. Not now anyway.

However I did not have a nap which is an accomplishment for me. I read my e mail and work some on the blog. Then I made dinner. Greek salad as we bought Feta, then hot sausages , one each, potatoes and  fried onions . It was all very delicious. Ray is cleaning up the kitchen and putting the dishwasher on.  Not too much to clean as I always clean as I go. If I take the wrap off the tomato or cucumber , I cut it then put the wrap right back on and off it goes back into the fridge.
Richard called today and the elevator in his building is not working. He has big trouble with his back and legs and is waiting for a call from the hospital. Just like Ray is.
But he visited Emma who is in the hospital with an e coli infection. It is very sad as she is  quite young 20 or so years old. I wonder how long she will be there. Rick says she is getting better care than I did as it is a better hospital. Time will tell.  I talk to her on FB but don't tell her bad things, who needs to hear that?
I was going to sew but didn't , maybe after the news :))

More quilts from the show.
This is so beautiful , it depicts the roofs of somewhere in Europe. We don't have any  roofs like this here. The curtains below the quilt are not a part of the piece LOL.
Pretty blue and pink, stripes and hearts.
These are table runners using quite a complicated design. It must have taken a lot of time as do most quilts.
Stars and more stars in Brown my most unfavourite colour. But even so I liked this quilt. I wonder why. I think it was the regularity of it that appeals to my nature for some crazy reason.
Trains for Ray and David my friend in Arizona who worked for the RR all his working life.
Coming down the line.

An interesting little piece and well done.
And now for the picture Ray wanted me to take.
On the street where we live.... well close to us. The trees are just gorgeous.
Can't leave without a dog or cat picture , in this case both. Sweet isn't it?

Pinwheel. Your comments came in 10 of the same one so
