another book

Download now as a pdf pattern

The beloved Ohio Star. What I like about this star is that the centre square can be a favourite fabric while the rest of the parts can  be accent fabrics and backdground fabrics. It can make a very pretty quilt.

Today I went to the hairdresser for a hair cut. It was definitely about time as I was trimming my own hair. Ever tried to cut your hair on the back of your neck Not a fun job but I was either too busy or too lazy to go to the salon.
In the hair salon lives a small Dachsund . When he gets hungry he takes his bowl and drags it across the floor to make a noise that tells the staff he wants to eat. This little guy is essentially doing the same thing.  LOL.

While that was going on Ray kindly too my  books back to the library.
Then we went to Metrotown for lunch and a walk. Ray has trouble walking too far as he suffers a lot of pain and I despite my walker have leg problems if I go too far. When I was finished my legs were a mess and wouldn't stop shaking. We did walk quite a bit for two old fogies.  Then we drove to Hop On's because Ray wanted a yellow orchid.

Once home I rested in my chair and from then on it wasn't too bad.
Then I began cutting off the small squares  2 1/4" from the strips that were cut the other day, these are for the corners of the snowball blocks.

These ladies are just too cute for words..... so no words. LOL.

Marg called to say she had finished her book. That was very fast but she said she could not put it down. The author Kay |Hooper is a good writer obviously. Marg has to slow down, the pile of books in my bedroom is getting so high it is starting to look like a cartoon LOL.  Thanks Marg!
My computer is driving me nuts well maybe I am nuts and can't use it properly. Letters I had troubles sending  I seem to have gotten  sorted out. It can be so frustrating don't you agree.

My dear friend Betty's prize winning quilt, good old Dresden Plate.  She won 3rd prize at the quilt show for this one. She also won first prize for her beautiful hand quilting.
I'm impressed with her choice of background fabric and colour. Lovely applique on the borders.

Which reminds me-we went into Telus today to see if we could buy a charger for my cell phone. He looked at my phone and laughed because it is so old, well old for a cell phone. He said they were retiring the phone but he would check for the charger. Ships ahoy there was one left. He said he would check in the computer for the price. It was $30  on the box. Ray said how about $20 since it is being discontinued. We'll check the computer said the salesman. So he did and then began to laugh. You have hit the jackpot. As it is being discontinued the cost will be $5. Haha happy day!!

I have liked this photo for some time, what is it about bridges and water and woods that draw us in. Imagine yourself taking that trail into the woods. What would you find? Or what would find you LOL.
That's about all I have for tonight.
Have a great evening!
Namaste
