nice stuff

Check this page for the complete instructions for Rocky Road to Kansas  1912 . There are several examples so you can get an idea of what works for you. And there are more blocks too . This page is about women's suffrage and the right to have rights enshrined in the law. I found it an interesting read. Hope you do too.

Block of the day Lighthouse. Looks like fun or at least something you can build on.

I am so happy to see this tutorial as I am using the corners blocks to make my snowball blocks  and was wondering what to do with the three layers of fabric, whether to cut away the two layers and leave one or to keep all three. You can see what is offered in this tutorial LOL. I think I may do this quilt some time in the future.
This quilt uses 2 charm packs  called Trade Winds but Moda.

I stayed in all day and worked like a navvy as my dear old dad would say. I was never sure what a navvy was but that was my dad, he spoke English LOL.
I cut fabric squares ,washed fabric  and sewed the corners on my squares to make snowballs.
Pretty Hallowe'en squares.

Also I did the heart applique on my machine using the blanket stitch. I sewed very slowly so I did not make a mistake. And I am here to tell you I did them right!!  When I  sew slowly I have pretty complete control and don't have to do them all over again. In the end it saves more time than speed sewing and ripping it out. I feel pretty good about what I accomplished today.  I wish I could have more days like this.

Marg came over around 3:00 with another book , the latest Jonathon Kellerman. She claims he is not as good as in the beginning. I agreed with her after I read his last book. I noticed that he has someone  writing chapters of his books along with him of course. That is the reason I think that his books have lost their magic. He isn't writing them. I remember when he first began to write about Alex Cross the books were riveting and we looked forward to the next one, not any more.
Now Lisa Gardner still keeps up the suspense in Hide, she is a great story teller and keeps me wondering right up to the end.
Marg and I had a nice visit and Ray was out shopping for bread and for the ingredients for his signature Beef and Barley soup. It is hard for him to stand up in the kitchen so I tried to help him by slicing and dicing as well as washing the celery he bought , drying it off and putting in the container.
So for supper I used up the rest of the potatoes from yesterday, cut them up and fried them with onions. Ray is not allowed to eat potatoes due to his kidney condition, so I ate them while he was in the kitchen.
And Clairee I finished your wonderful pickled beets. Thank you very much.
So you can see how busy my day was. I am still a bit energetic so maybe I'll do some more cutting. Fabric that is :))
Here is a cute photo of a cute baby..... Our lovely Rose.
So sweet!   I wish they were living here on the Lower Mainland instead of over in Victoria a long ferry ride away. But I am thankful that Mary sends the pictures for me to share.

Isn't this little guy adorable LOL .He is getting in shape for the day he has to do Mondays for real haha!! Practice makes perfect !!

Have I shown this gang before. They are fabulous!! If you have seen them before just look again haha.

So it's Sunday, so what!

The picture here of a precious little girl and her dolls saying their prayers. It is just adorable!!

On that note I am also done for the night. It has been a long and busy day for me.
Have a lovely evening folks.
