a new day

Ray went to see the doctor at VGH who told him he could give him a needle in his back with steroids in it and silence the nerve that is giving him so much pain. He said it would take 2 months before he could do it. But that will be good if it works and no surgery required. Good news !

We went to the hospital for an 11:00 appointment but we had to get there early to find parking space. We did find it but as usual the parking costs a fortune.
On the way home we stopped at Helen's on 25th and Main Street for lunch, but it appears that Helen is no longer there. She must have sold out to some younger people and retired.  We still had a good sandwich, hot corned beef on rye for Ray along with a salad and a grilled ham and cheese with fries for me. Bad stuff but I never eat all the fries, usually I fill up fast LOL.
HA we are just having phone trouble because we have trouble with phones, too complicated haha. Lynn called us from Quebec and while we were talking another call came in. I don't know how to get through to the second call and hold the first one. Lynn just said to push the flasher , we had to call her back. Then I'll call Heather when Ray is finished chatting with Lynn. Such is life LOL.
After we had our lunch we went next door to the butcher shop. It is hard to find a butcher shop. We bought some hamburger and had the butcher package it into three packages for freezing. Also we bought some corned beef to cook. I think that was all.

We came home but first dropped into Safeway to take Ray's prescription for a refill and picked up a loaf of bread.

By this time I was tired and had to lay down for a nap. It seems that I need to rest every day now. I guess that is the way it is going to be . But I feel better when I get up so that's a good thing.

We didn't watch  any TV this morning or this afternoon Aww. Don't worry it all comes by again LOL.

So now I sit and write.
Aren't these girls cute. They are the darlings of my niece Karin who is Marg's daughter. Freddie and Ruby are their names. Karin and Dave her husband took them out on a special staycation as Karin calls it. They stayed home and travelled around the town. We have a beautiful city with many places to go and Karin , Dave and the dogs had a wonderful time.
This is probably a waste of time as I can't find the name or the pattern but it is pretty and so I just call it eye candy :))
More eye candy. I always think of fall when  it is time for Jim's birthday on the 24th of September. It is such a beautiful season.
More eye candy , glorious Autumn.

Haha back to quilting, this one tickled my fancy.
It made me smile , so heartwarming. Tiny human and tiny kitten. Beautiful.

I liked this picture of a Grand Pyrenees puppy sleeping with the sheep that he will eventually be in charge of herding. Cute picture, I guess he likes the warmth of the herd.
Have   you ever seen anything like this sand castle. I haven't and it is amazing.
Just had a long talk with my dear friend Heather. We talked about swearing, she says that she just says Crapola Viola instead of some of the other words we need not to say. I loved that and think I am going to adopt her insights into the world of foul language.
We did talk about other things though LOL.  Heather and I have been friends since the 60s. I love having long time friends. But some of my friends are not in very good shape and cannot get around very well or have dementia. I am fortunate that I have Ray. Heather and I talked about the role that luck plays in your life. Sometimes we think that luck is for naught.  I was lucky to have met Ray and to have married him!
It is time to go folks, thanks for reading.
Have a good evening.
aloha ahi ahi

I can't even wrap my head around your socialize medicine. Ray is in so much pain and is at a hosp.for an appt. for his back. Yes, they can help, but they tell him to come back in 2 months?
I will keep more out of pocket medicine. Our health system has a lot of flaws, but I can get a specialist within 1-2weeks. Can't put a price on pain relief or piece of mind. Jean
