Sew fine

9-inch Road to California Quilt Block Pattern

From Janet Wickell. About.com for other good things quilting and such.  It is kind of nice I think. The colours blend together very well. This block was one of the earliest patterns I saw when I first started quiting. So maybe I am just reminiscing about times past . Man that is a real sign of late onset age LOL.

Download now as a pdf pattern

This pdf should get you the pattern. I tried it and it worked for me. So if I can do it anybody can LOL.
The anvil another old pattern and one I like also, However all I do lately is look at blocks not make them.

There a tutorial for you child to make a sewing machine out of LEGOs. It could be a fun time for parent and child to do something together.
My day began with Pat and Starbucks, nice way to start the day. We went on to our sewing group where we all worked on different projects, some small, some larger. Sharon was doing the interesting technique Reverse Applique. I looked at it and said Ellie Sankewich (sic) Who can spell that name haha. Sharon said yes, she had taken a small class from ES. I recall when Nancy was doing a pillow cover using that technique. It takes courage believe me LOL. Nancy had to go on a cruise to take that class )))
Betty Lu was quilting her second Baltimore Album quilt, Pat was adding binding to her quilt and so it went.
Elizabeth's baby quilt.
Betty and Joan collaborate on these hospital quilts. Joan does the applique and Betty does the rest.

Me? I appliqued a heart.

So miniscule when compared to what the other ladies were doing but it was all I had to do.  And it took me the whole time to get it done. But you cannot see my stitches which is why  it took me so long.Well I could have embroidered antennae on my last butterfly - but I didn't. Haha. It was a good time. I had an egg sandwich for lunch and a bottle of water.

Then Pat brought me home as  I had a dentist appointment at 2:15. No Pumpkin Seeds for me again this week and no Tea at Betty's. But next week for sure  I'll be there.
When I got home I fell asleep in my chair , something I rarely do, the bed is more comfortable.
Ray woke me up in time to get going. We got that over with and then I went down for a nap but it was not to be. Phone calls woke me up. I got up.  And am still up. Bed early for me tonight.

Tomorrow is my dear eldest son Adam's  59th birthday. Whatever happened to my baby, he grew up so fast as did all five of them. I think back to when he was a baby . I used to take him out in the buggy every day for a walk. I did the walk , he rode LOL.
Here is he, me and my momee. And Margee back there at the top of the stairs.

We have time for an animal photo and then it is the end.

Like this?

And this gorgeous flower is eally THE END.
Have a lovely evening.
Good night.
