Carrie Nation

Download now as a pdf pattern

Carrie Nation Quilt Block. Who is Carrie Nation? She was a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union who carried a hatchet and went into bars and wrecked them. Carrie was a large woman , 6 feet tall and 175 pounds.  She claimed to be saving men from drunkedness by destroying the bars.
She had other women with her who stood around and sang hymns while Carrie did her damage. If you want to know more about her just type Carrie Nation into your browser and she will come up.
She looks pretty grim doesn't she. Apparently there was a lot of mental illness in her family.

Haha smart lady.
We had some hard hail this afternoon and then some heavy rain but that bit of a storm passed by quickly and it was back to normal for us , soft rain.

We also did out shopping and there were NO quilt magazines on the rack. I wonder if the magazines were just late coming in. So I had to satisfy myself with cooking magazines . What! I hear you say ... But the pictures are beautiful and make you want to cook. However I restrained myself and did not buy one.

After that we went to the casino for a few hours , had a good time, ate some cake and lost some $$$ . But it wasn't too big a loss as Ray won often. I didn't. What a loser!!

Right now we are watching the hockey game , Canucks and Detroit. At the moment Detroit is winning  and the score is 2 to 1 for them. Canucks had better get busy.

Time for photos.
Neat trick the way the heart is added in there to the grey background . I like it. And it looks easy don't you think. All scrappy and that is a good thing that will  make your stash dwindle.

Echo picture, these fascinate me. Lovely scene.

Decorate your shed .Isn't this a good idea to beautify your yard?

True!!

The caption said he was tired . I wonder how he let his owner know that. Did he just sit down and stay there. That would tell the tale.

And I am higher than a kite LOL>

Now this one made me laugh out loud, still does. A little mousy lobster is very funny.

Can't trust those blue eyes. Sometimes cats do bite their owners. I had one that attacked me every time she went past me. It got so that I was scared to death of her and she had to go. All because she blamed me when she had her kittens and she screamed with each one while I tried to help her but she thought I did the deed. It was weird.
So that is all for tonight.

Have a great evening folks.
Good night.
