followers

I want to take a moment to say hello to the two new members and to thank all of you who are followers of my blog. It is fun to see who is with me on this journey. If you wish you may make a comment to introduce yourselves. Once again thank you.

It was a very sad moment for me when I read my Richard's blog this morning. Sad for him as well but a mother's heart is breaking.

Our day began with the usual morning stuff but we decided to take a run out to University Hospital and see how long it would take us to find the hospital since Ray will be going there on Monday for the procedure on his back that he needs because of his Spinal Stenosis.
That was an adventure in frustration. Every time we go there which is not too often we get totally lost . There is so much constant construction going on  changing the look of the landscape. In the end we stopped and asked two lovely young women where to go . They were very helpful. And we finally found the hospital. Hope it is still there on Monday LOL. Ray went inside and found where he needed to go on Monday and even talked to the right nurse. So we are all set. I hope !!

We came back along 41st, we were at the total opposite of the city from where we live so it was a long drive. We decided to stop at Oakridge for lunch at the White Spot. Wow it was so lined up.  I thought at 1:45 things would have calmed down a bit. We walked the length of the mall to the food court. I chose to have a Vietnamese Spring Roll with peanut sauce. It was excellent but then I love these rolls and generally have them when Karen brings them to Pot Luck.
The Food Court was also very crowded and it was hard to find a table but we found a small on with just two chairs but that suited us and it was good people watching too haha.
We stopped at Purdy's and bought a small box of chocolates with 10 chocolates. MMMM excellent!!

We had to walk the whole mall again to get back to the car so we had our exercise as well as food.

When we got home there was a retrospective on TV re Bette Davis and that was very interesting. She was from a proper Boston family and had a very prim upbringing.  The show followed her career from its first days. Fascinating -many interviews with Davis herself.

Time for bears. Our polar bears are having a hard time surviving the loss of the ice floes and our grizzlies are being  decimated by habitat loss and trophy hunting.

Time for quilts or rather table runners.
Hahahaha What do you think? I love it!

I have a few pictures left from guild night.
I thought this was very odd but then I prefer more symmetry in quilts. A bit off I can take but htis was too far off for me.
I do like these stars in stars.

This is one very large quilt but it is a good one.
This is the last quilt, I note many quilts are mixed up not symmetrical. That's the way of life these days.

Block of the day.

It is called a California boat so it says. I wonder if that is really a catamaran. But then I am not sure what a catamaran looks like.

That's it folks.
Have a good evening.
Good night!
