Late tonight

We had a day! It was perfect weather today. And we took good advantage of the weather. After shopping we went across Marine Drive to the Fraser River where there was a Farmer's Market going on. It was quite busy with lots of people and many dogs and kids.
We walked along to the end of the pier  And watched the tug boat going for the boom to move it somewhere along the river. It was so nice to stand there in the fresh air and watch things happening along the river.

Another view of the tugboat on its way to work.

Then to the market  where the little creatures are. I do not take pictures of children as I think parents may be afraid of that but there were some cute ones ther and I would have loved to take pictures of them.
I asked this  puppy owner if I could take its picture . She agreed.

A Yorkie, he is so small you can hardly see him LOL.
Six Shades of Lettuce Green ...in a bowl and still rooted.

No Strawberries yet but there were flowers meaning berries to come.
AAH... Pink and gorgeous geraniums Wow!

After the market, because the day was so beautiful and we did not want to stay in we went to Central Park. We parked in at the pond area. Just lucky enough to get a parking spot . It too was very crowded with eveyone else who didn't want to stay inside. We decided to walk around the pond as we love the creatures there. Ray was concerned that I might not be able to make it that far. However there are many picnic tables around the pond to take a rest if needed.
So that is what we did. At this table a very nice lady allowed us to sit on her bench that was right beside the pond. We watched two Canada Geese at the edge of the  pond and a small boy flipping water onto them.
I don't think he knew that big geese can be dangerous if riled up. But he left before that occurred.
Good thing.
We continued on our walk across two small bridges and on to the other side of the pond.

In the tall tree you can see a patch of white. It is an aerie with eaglets in it. People were taking pictures with high powered cameras and looking at the nest with binoculars. We have a pair but had forgotten about them. Tomorrow we are going to Steveston and we'll take them with us.
See the adult eagle off to the left watching the nest . You can see a small patch of white and that is the nest.
Way up there a small patch of white. Babies!
And my favourite reptile the turtle. He was coming up out of the pond. Ray got close enough by moving slowly to get close. Then some people moved in on the poor thing and he slid back into the pond. Too bad , we were enjoying him.

Newly planted Dogwoods. I am enamoured of Dogwoods who peep out from behing the other trees. They need a dappled, shaded spot as the bark is very fragileand does not like full sun.
After the park we decdided to go to Dairy Queen for a Sundae. When we got there many others had the same idea, no parking spots, no outside tables and the line up was out the door. With that we decided to go to the mall and get an ice cream. I had wanted fries with vinegar and salt. Why? Because  I recalled the times as kids when we were in Stanley Park and we had wonderful fish and chips with vinegar and salt.
I thought that the mall would be empty since many were out in the sunshine. But the mall was full. Ray went for his ice cream and I had fries at New York Fries. They were awful. Just little chips of potatoes . What are they doing! No more of those for me. Another customer lost.
So that was our lovely day . We are very happy with it.
Time to go folks.
Have a lovely evening.
Good night.
