Mother's Day

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day and your children made contact.
My sons are mostly away. But Matthew who does live here came to visit with his wife Caroline who brought us some of her wonderful coffee cake and our grandson Ryan who has just returned from Kelowna where he soent the past year at University. This coming year he will be attending UBC so he will stay at home. That makes it a lot more reasonable in terms of dollars. It was lovely to see them all , we had a great visit.
Matthew and Caroline at an earlier date. I am having to call on my old photos since I keep forgetting to take new ones.

Then we went to catch Sam for lunch . Sam was not feeling well at all , he thinks he has the flu. When we were finished lunch he went straight home to bed for the next three days. I hope sleep will fix him up. I always say that sleep is the great healer. At least it always works for me.  And I forgot to take pictures again .
So here we are in an earlier day.
I could not believe the crowds and line ups at the restaurant, it was a huge crowd. We had not gone out to a restaurant on Mother's Day ever before. I think we'll go on Saturday next year LOL. But Sam was there quite early and already had a booth when we got there.

My other sons are everywhere but here :)) .Peter is in Hawaii, Richard is in Cuba, Jim is in Edmonton, and Adam is in Louisiana.
However they all called me today and I was very happy to hear from them. I have wonderful boys and it is a joy to hear their voices.
It rained so hard last night that it kept me awake. Usually I find the rain helps me sleep but last night it was a very hard rain. However the trees were happy.
I brought out my little iron today and was going to do some  pressing of my blocks but for some reason I didn't manage to get at it. I lay down after we returned  from lunch as I was a bit sleepy. Food will do that to you.

I did manage to read on my book though. Closer than Blood is by Gregg Olsen and as usual a wonderful read. He is such a great storyteller. The basic premise is twins, one good, one bad. A familiar construct but endlessly fascinating and especially when it is at the hands of Olsen.
I hate to put the book down. Thanks goodness the story is lengthy so I can read it for a long time. I like that.
