Rick is here

Richard is here, he got in a little after noon. We had gone shopping as we didn't think he would get here so fast. He called when he was approaching us . I told him we were at Tim Horton's so he found his way there following my directions. We all had coffee  and chatted for a while.  I am very happy to see him. He was in good spirits, he does keep up a great attitude.
So while I wrtie this blog , Rick is doing whatever he does on his laptop. We sit with our computers and Ray sits in the middle and watches TV. Rick and I are the bread and Ray is the meat in our family sandwich. That's a joke if you missed it. My jokes make me laugh but my family says they are not funny. But nothing keeps me down haha.
Ray made soup for dinner, a great vegetable soup. I had bought buns, two kinds, and we had those with butter, well margarine.:))
That was our dinner but it was quite filling. Rick said he was full so that was okay. I can make him a sandwich later if he needs more.
Ray and Richard went back to his truck to bring up the rest of his luggage. When they got to the door a little Chinese boy held the door open for them. That was so sweet of that little guy. We have a number of children in the development and Ray and I love to hear them playing outside . I was so happy he helped Rick. It bodes well for the future.

So now the boys are watching the hockey game , the cup semi finals between LA and San Jose. We aren't in the games so I am not interested. I guess I am not a true hockey fan just a Vancouver fan.

Another picture of the Blue Footed Booby. I ran across this bird many years ago in a film I showed at school. The bird is hilarious and I fell in love with it. I have put a picture of the booby up on my blog before but it was a different picture. His feet are a gorgeous blue. That would be a great colour for a piece of fabric.
Well" lookee here what just turned up "on my e mail. Just about a match.

Download now as a pdf pattern

Fox and Geese , an oldie pattern but still a good one. The way the pattern repeats itself in large and small elements of the block is intersting.

I was looking at my Trip Around the World quilt today and seeing the elements that repeated, it was all squares of course but the colour repeats were fun to pick out.

Doggie time.

Don't you love this little guy?
Little chihuahuas think they are big dogs. Look at them go after big dogs as if they were the same size. Their spirits are huge!
We had a smaller dog at one time and it was scary to take her out for a walk. She would strain at the leash to go after a huge dog three times her size. That dog was afraid of nothing. But I was petrified that the big dogs would come after me. Coward !

You never know with cats LOL.
and finally......
A little late on the mother's day but I sure remember doing that to my boys before the days of the seat belt.
Have a lovely evening folks. It is beautiful here, hope it is so wherever you are.
