Our friend Bob is home from his surgery , still a bit weak and in pain but Buzz is nursing him back to health.
We are looking forward to him becoming strong and able to meet for lunch.
Last night at guild I took a ton of pictures. We had a guest with many quilts to show and members also had a lot of Show and Tell . It looks like people did a lot of work over the summer. It was a good evening but Ray complains that it is too tiring for me to go otu at night. Just Wait until I tell him I joined the Embroidery Club along with Kathy and it is at night . Whoops!   However if I take a nap during the day it will be okay.
Our guest speaker told us the story of her life in quilts.  She was very entertaining, funny and informative.
I can't possible show all the photos that I took but will display some of the ones I particularly like. I am so much of a traditionalist that I find it difficult to like some Modern Quilts but I will show some of them. The guest describes her journey from Traditional to Modern in her quilts so I will try to show the path she trod.
This is her first little quilt for her baby daughter.
Stars over somewhere LOL. That is the guest on the right.
A beautiful Round Robin that traveled the world form Edmonton to New Zealand and elsewhere. The detail is so great , too bad you can't really see it.

All made of triangles and so gorgeous. Now we are moving into the more artistic type of quilts.
Bleak and wintery describes this quilt . It is fabulous.
These are the towers that fell on 9/11. Strangely it was 9/11 yesterday when this was displayed. As you see her quilts are evolving from traditional to more modern quilts.
Her  friendship quilt.
In each branch is the real handprint of her friends.

As you can see it was a very interesting evening.
I have just shown a few of these beauties as there is only so much room. And as for the Show and Tell quilts they will show up tomorrow night.
Today Ray and I just went around as we sometimes do. I wanted to go to Staples for 2 things. One was a little plastic envelope to put my guild card in. They just had them in packages of ten. What would I do with ten of them. I also want to buy a replacement for my favourite pen. The smallest packs of pens were three to a pack and I could not find the ones I like. So much for Staples. I need to find another store.
We had gone to Metrotown for a walk about and ruined all the exercise by stopping at Dairy Queen.
After was when we went to Staples.  From there to COB'S for bread. Then we came home and rested for a bit. I made some stew for dinner in the slow cooker. It was made 8 hours earlier of course.  It was delicious. I am a good cook Haha. Never have I had that honour but still my cooking is tasty. Well I like it and so does Ray.

I called TOM'S this afternoon and signed up for the Embroidery Club. Kathy has signed up too so we'll go together . It will be fun. I hope my embroidery machine is in good shape. It has been resting for some months.
So that was our day.
Time to go folks. I hope you all have a lovely evening.
Good night.
