OWLIE

A little more block entertainment: Hootie by Shayla Wolf for Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks Volume 7. http://www.quiltandsewshop.com/category/s?keyword=volume+7

Another great owl for you to make.

Many leavs in this quilt and the Maple Leaf block is a classic block and easy to make.

This morning Adam and I went along Marine Drive to Dunbar St.
Adam wanted to go to  the Scottish shop on 41st to buy some blood pudding. He likes it for breakfast with eggs and sausages. There is some interesting stuff in the store , imported items. I got a steak and kidney pie. My  mom used to make that so it will be a walk in the past for me.
Since it was a long drive right across town we were able to have a long talk, just a talk nothing serious but so pleasant.

We came back here for a while before getting ready to go to Sam's in Langley for dinner. We had to follow Adam out there since neither of us can remember all the twists and turns to find his house.
Once there we watched the football game between the Lions and Saskatchewan. We won right at the last moment/second by a touchdown 30 seconds to go. Wow it was amazing. All three men enjoyed the game so I had to LOL.
Sam made a beautiful dinner , lamb shanks, garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus, kernel corn  and tossed salad. It was perfectly done and beautifully presented. It looked so delicious that I forgot to take a picture of it , suffice to say it could have been the picture in a cookbook.

We just dived in and ate it all up.
However I took a picture of the plates after we had eaten all the dinner. You'll see it was a fine meal.
The ravages of a wonderful dinner.
Sam has a coffee maker that no one could figure out so he ran up to the local Tim Horton's for 4 double doubles. A fine cup of coffee.
We had some little profiteroles for dessert.

I made a new pile of dish cloths and gave them to Adam but I think he might have shared them with  Sam.

Sam the chef, he wears many hats LOL. But not today.

Dad Adam checking out his double double.

And Ray and I happy with the company and the great food.

That was our fabulous day, we came home before it got dark. Ray doesn't want to drive in the dark. I remember when my dad had to get home before it got dark and I wondered why. Now I understand.
Thank you Sam and Adam for this great day.
