a day out

Big rainy day today. It reminded me of going downtown with my mom on a special specific day . It is a good memory .

Today we did our weekly shopping in the morning and in the afternoon we went with Margaret to the casino and to partake of the buffet which Marg treated us to. It was all fun. None of us got rich LOL. Does anyone? I believe no one gets rich in a casino.   Maybe if you are playing the tables but definitely not the slots. However we did have a good time so entertainment is the real issue. The buffet was good and the desserts were excellent.. We had lamb, roast beef, salmon steaks in a lovely sauce, rice , potatoes, corn,  and I don't remember what else.  Marg treated us as my birthday present and so it goes, the birthday season continues despite the fact that my birthday is not even here yet LOL.

The line up of warmers for dinner.

Dessert table.

Marg, Ray and me.

My sweetheart drinking his coffee.

We came home around 5:30 , we were all tired. Ray had a nap but I just sat down and rested as I played with my computer and started writing my blog.

I have nor bought any quilting magazines for some time but today I bought the latest American and Patchwork Quilting magazine. I am so disappointed in it so it will be some time again before I buy another one. This magazine was wrapped in a plastic bag so it could not be looked at  beforehand . And it is the last one ever that I will buy that is enclosed in plastic. I have been banned from buying magazines by these practices.  I ban myself . There is little in the magazine that I want and I wonder if they are wrapped because the content is not very good. That is my rant for today.

I have a number of red appliqued hearts ready to put together for a top. The background is cream and the hearts as I said are red. My next task is to choose a colour for the sashing. I have the border and the binding fabrics ready to go . I wonder what to use for the sashing. I have no ideas. Is chocolate brown a good choice I wonder. It needs an audition.

Isn't this a sweetie sitting on his hexagons  LOL.

Here's a lovely hourglass pattern with prairie points along the sides of the centre panel. Pretty sharp I think.

Now this is one BIG dog, a Mastiff. Now a pretty boy but he looks docile and kind.

So it is time to close this blog.

Have a great evening.
Good night.
