A small pineapple pattern , looks easy and would be a simple way to start.
There is the download for the instructions.  This one is from About.com.

Peter called today and said it is Peter #3. I had to laugh , as if I did not know who was #3. Dear Peter ,he is a hoot. He was calling to say he wanted to come over for a visit. He has been living in the next province to us, Alberta, so it was a real treat to see him. He is full of information and we had a great couple of hours chatting.  So nice to see your kids once in a while or even more often. But when they are so far away that does not happen often.  I am talking to Ray about driving to Calgary . It can be done in 10 hours but that is too much for us now so we could stop at Golden for the night and then make our way to Calgary. Maybe next month would be a good time. However I would like it if Rick was back there but Peter says he will be doing a cesouple of  class for him in September. Peter does classes on how to prepare for writing the exam on  Project Management and he hires Rick to help him out if he has too many classes or if he is unable to do them himself.

This is me and Peter in '09, I was a lot heavier then than I am now. We were at a lovely little restaurant at Crescent Beach.
Lots of seagulls flying around the beach, must be dish or shell fish there on the beach. This is one of the family's  favourite places to hold events.  Mary's wedding was also held here.

I had intended to sew today but, yes but, Ray said we had to go to Safeway for some prescriptions. We waited for them and had a cup of coffee at Starbucks while we waited. Then we decided to go to out little mall for ice cream which we had not thought about  . So another stop. I ran into a teacher that I had taught music with when I was working. She had just come in at the bottom of her Jazz Pedagogy class. She said she did not get theory, but she liked jazz.
And the greatest of all....
Our own greatest of all our granddaughter  Chelsea McBride!

Did you know that if you typed  Sewing With Nancy  into you browser you can find a goodly number of videos on sewing, quilting and embroidery. I have never done that before so it was a surprise to me. It is kind of like Missouri Star Quilt Company which is one of my favourite sites for watching quilting videos.
Tavern Blues Civil War Quilt to be found under tutorials on the Missouri Star quilts company page.
This page and the company has so many videos to watch. Good for quilters!

Keeping all your raspberries in the air is not always easy LOL.

Great quilt made by my friend Barb in Ohio. A bit of shadowing happening in this quilt.
Rose , first time in the pool. She liked it. That is her  paternal grandma watching over her.
This is Emily in Quebec, she is a bit older now. We were hoping to go to Quebec to visit with them but until Ray can get his back fixed that is not going to happen.

Time to go folks.
Have a lovely evening, hopefully at the beach LOL.

Bonne soiree, that's the way Nancy in Quebec writes it, so bonne soiree.
