Patterns and quilts today

Download now as a pdf pattern

Handy Andy, an old block but a good one. It is divided into quarters with sashing in between the quarters. Four half square triangles form the quarters. That is the simplicity of the block.

this delightful heart quilt has several elements that I like. One is that the hearts in one row are opposite the hearts in the next row, a design element that I like. That allows the space between to become a chevron. Then the quilting emphasizes the  chevron and outlines the hearts. Nice quilt.

Quilts in the breeze  and at the ocean side. Looks like a calendar picture. It is pretty to me because I like blue and yellow.
I bought this lovely pattern from Craftsy today and I had trouble downloading it. Rick helped me with that. He also helped me with my laptop which decided to mess up when it knew Rick was here . LOL. He has always been my go to man for computers along with Jim.

We took Rick to Cockney Kings for lunch today , fish and chips. While we were walking to the restaurant we saw this.
49/50 Ford Coupe and in great condition. It was obviously restored and beautifully done. It reminds me of a family friend who had a coupe that looks liked this one only it was a 37 made before the WW2. There were no cars made during the war. All metal was for the war effort. The metals were needed for ships , planes and tanks. Scrap metal was collected and used for these things.

After we drove to Safeway for bread, and then home. Rick came back to our place  and we visited again until it was time for him to meet a friend and go out for dinner.  It was during that time he fixed my laptop. Thank God for Richard.

Our garage doors were fixed today . They went down during the fire on Sunday because of the hydro failing. We have been parking out on the street since then and it has been hard to find a spot because there are many people working around here. Tomorrow the de construction will begin and that means much more traffic and big scrap boxes to hold all the debris. At least they are getting on with it. I know it will be a mess but it has to be done.

It was a pretty quiet day I did not do much of anything but once Rick goes I am thinking of getting down to my sewing. That would be a nice change of pace.
And I need to call Sharon about getting a ride to my sewing groups on Tuesday.  NOW! LOL.

A simple Bow Tie quilt.  I made one of these early on when I first
started quilting.
And this is it . I used Conversation Fabrics for the bow ties and I really liked the look. I gave it to Meaghan.

It is time to close this blog for tonight. But first this quilt below it one usually dnen in tans and colours that go with tans. My friend Betty Lou did hers in these colours. It is gorgeous.

And below is the one I did. We all made this pattern.
Double four patch. It was fun to make.

Have a great evening.
Good night.
