Ray's turn

Ray had to go to the doctor this morning because his thumb joint was very sore. He has had problems with his hands for decades. When we were first married he was working in the basement of the house we had and put his hand throught the circular saw cutting off all his fingers. I rushed him to the hospital and the hospital sent him to New Westminster in an ambulance. Our good luck was that the finest hand surgeon was on duty that night and he put them all back together. The knuckles were gone so he has not ever been able to bend those fingers.
Later he discovered that he had Dupytren's Contracture in both hands and had to have them operated on, not at the same time. First one, then later theother. The first one was great but the second operation was not well done. The cords are growing again and he has a trigger thumb. Now that thumb is very painful . The docotr today had him go for X Rays and some blood work. Then he wants him to see a hand specialist. So it is Ray's turn today.
We went to White Spot for lunch and we both had a waffle  , bad stuff but there it is.
Once again I came home and had a nap.
A new Keepsake Quilting catalogue came in the mail today. It had a lot of batiks in it and batik quilt kits. I found the fabrics were way too dark for my liking but then I am not that fond of batiks,
Connecting Threads had some nice stuff on its site today , I liked the quilts in the book Quilts Made Modern by Week Rindle and Kil Ker.  And it was on sale too. They also had on sale two great  metal thread stands. Very tempting.

One more thing totally unrelated but I like it. In Burnaby there is a small park dedicated to the veterands of all the wars. It is a little jewel in the midst of very busy traffic lanes.
Time to leave you.
Have a great evening.
 Dobrego wieczoru.
